PVPP: Polyvinyl Polipyrrolidone – Synthetic Adsorbent
PVPP is a vinyl which specifically removes small molecular weight phenolic materials. This makes it particularly useful in managing bitter phenolics on the palate and to prevent and correct the effects of oxidation. Very effectively used in clarification or filtration of oxidized white wines; eliminating the yellow tones in red wines; and reducing the tannin content in young red wines.
Directions: Dissolve in water and then add to wine, mixing carefully. The reaction is immediate.
